Saved search enables users to capture a reusable set of smart filters [including advanced search query] and run that exact search anytime. They speed up repeat monitoring tasks, let users share views with teammates, and can be converted into alerts so stakeholders receive the right updates automatically.
Saved searches can be created through two ways:
From the saved search section
From the curated newsfeed
📌 How to create a saved search from the saved search section:
Step 1: Go to the 'Saved Search' section in the 'Newsfeed' module.
Step 2: On the saved searches page, click on 'Create New'. This opens the search criteria where you can add filters.
Step 3: Add the required smart filters. You can also use the 'Advanced Search Query' for more accurate matching.
[Note: You can choose to include duplicate updates in alerts by activating the toggle for the same.]
Step 4: From the 'Template' drop-down, select a template for your saved search.
Step 5: [Optional] Choose if you want to group and subgroup the saved search by selecting an option from the drop-down menu.
Step 6: Assign the saved search a clear 'Alert Name' and 'Subject' headline so it appears in your saved searches list for future runs.
Step 7: 'Activate alert' by turning the toggle on. Add users with whom you want to share the saved search. You can also control the recipient permissions as well. The saved search alert can be sent instantly or scheduled accordingly.
[Note: To immediately notify users about the saved search, turn the toggle on for 'Notify Users via Email']
Step 8: Preview the saved search and then click 'Create' to save it.
📌 How to create a saved search from the curated newsfeed:
Step 1: Go to the 'Curated Newsfeed' in the 'Newsfeed' module.
Step 2: From the smart filters, apply the required ones to get the updates.
Step 3: Click on the '[⋮] menu' available above the search bar. Select the option 'Save Search'.
Step 4: Name the saved search and preview the applied filters.
[Note: You can choose to include duplicate stories and mark the search as a favorite.]
Step 5: Click on 'Save'.
💡Pro Tips
Use a clear, consistent convention [e.g., Sales • Weekly • Product launches] so teammates can find the right saved search quickly.
Always run the query and scan results first, as this prevents noisy alerts and saves rework later.
